The Bothy, by Dunkeld - is a conversion of a small stone and timber barn with stunning views to the west along Strathbraan. There is a large living / kitchen area with wood burner and under floor heating, bathroom with shower and two bedrooms. Set on a small farm of 54 acres where you are free to wander. Only five miles from the ancient town of Dunkeld with its wonderful Cathedral by the River Tay.
Overview:
The Bothy is a new conversion of a small stone and timber barn set in the grounds of The Smithy and provides completely private accommodation. Now available for holiday lets, The Bothy is warm and cosy; facing South West it receives all the sun possible. There is a selection of books and maps on the local walks, also wildlife books for you to use, if any others required you are welcome to borrow from the owners extensive library in the house. Binoculars are provided, along with small bikes for children and some toys.
Tombane, where the cottage is located, is only 5 miles from Dunkeld on the Sma’ Glen road which is one of the old Wade Roads. This is an ideal area for access to Perth, Edinburgh, Inverness. Blair Castle with its wonderful grounds and the House of Bruar (Harrods of the North) are just 30 minutes up the A9, Aberfeldy has a wonderful book shop in an old Water Mill, great to sit by the fire with the papers and a coffee.
Then on to Highland Safari’s, for a trip into the hills and some gold panning, kids love it. Scottish Quads is just a mile away. The Hermitage a NTS property is only 4 miles way with plenty of walks and the amazing Rumbling Bridge falls, so much to do.!! Finish the day with a drink looking at the sunset listening to the oystercatchers and curlews and maybe see an eagle. What more would you want! or if it is winter sit in front of the fire and look at the amazing sunsets over the snowy hills.

Rates:
Prices range from £300 - £400 per week
Short breaks charged at £70 per night - 3 nights minimum booking
Cotton linen, large bath sheets, heating and logs included in the rental. Owner can supply preserves and ready meals if required.
Booking terms:
25% deposit required to secure booking (payable by cheque or bank transfer)
Balance due one month prior to arrival.
