Loch Awe Cottage, Dalavich is a newly decorated two bedroom cottage with amazing views over Loch Awe. This spacious accommodation offers comfortable accommodation and an ideal base from which to explore the stunning West Coast of Scotland. Sleeps up to 4 guests.
Overview:
Loch Awe Cottage is a beautiful holiday home directly overlooking the shores of the inspiring Loch Awe which is famous for its hidden castles and is steeped in ancient history. The local area promises much for those who enjoy outdoor activities from mountain biking to walking, climbing, fishing or just back and enjoy the piece and quiet and absorb the amazing vies.
On entering the accommodation the lounge is located to the right and leads through to the sun room which is the full width of the house. Also on the ground floor is a shower and toilet, stairs up to the first floor and a well equipped kitchen with double oven.
Upstairs to the left is a spacious double bedroom with large ensuite bathroom including spa bath & power shower. This bedroom looks out over the back of the house towards Loch Awe.
The 2nd bedroom is straight ahead at the top of the stairs. It is set up as a twin with two single beds and looks out over the front of the cottage.
Back downstairs, and from the sunroom you can gain access to the decking area and back garden.
The village of Dalavich was built by the Forestry Commission in 1952 as a logging village to house Forestry workers. Loch Awe Cottage is one of the ex-forestry workers houses. As to be expected, there are various lovely walks in the area including Dalavich Oakwood Trail which takes you through an enchanting Caledonian Forest Reserve where you can look out for red squirrel, pine marten, woodpeckers and many other woodland inhabitants. And in the heart of the Oakwood is the small Barnaline Interpretation Centre with exhibits and activities to interest all members of the family.
Dalavich village has a Post Office, shop, restaurant, bar and small cafe. The popular West Highland Town of Oban is just 29 miles away.
