Blaven, Oban is a large holiday home providing luxury accommodation with outstanding seaviews over Oban Bay, and the nearby islands. Ideal for family gatherings and special celebrations, this stunning property has everything you could wish for to enjoy a West Coast holiday. Sleeps 11+2 (can also be set up for smaller groups to sleep up to 7).
Overview:
As well as being an idyllic holiday home for groups of families and friends, Blaven (Bla Bheinn in Gaellic, meaning ‘Blue Mountain’) also provides the ideal base for nature lovers and photographers, with its stunning sunsets and ever-changing sea views from almost every window.
Oban is the Gateway to the Isles; the ferry terminal being just a 5 minute drive from the house for island hopping trips to the Hebrides. Blaven is also just a 15 minute walk into Oban town centre, which has a wonderful range of restaurants, cafes, shops, bars and a delightful harbour renowned for its freshly caught seafood. For entertainment you might see traditional live music, swing by a ceilidh or visit the theatre attractions. Oban has a leisure centre and pool and the surrounding area offers a large range of outdoor activities including sailing, scuba diving, horse riding and walking and more.
On the ground floor is a grand entrance hall leading to a sitting room with open fire, large flat screen TV with Sky and Blu-Ray; a games room with Pool Table; a second sitting room also with TV and DVD. There is a large kitchen / dining room with iPod Dock.
For your convenience, there is a drying room with washing machine, tumble dryer and electric towel rails; a utility room with additional Fridge/Freezer; a boot room for all outdoor clothing and two cloakrooms.
On the first floor is a master bedroom with 6ft king size bed which may be made into twin beds if required. The bathroom next door can be used either as an en-suite to the master bedroom or as a family bathroom. This bathroom has a large double-ended bath, large shower, wash hand basin, w.c and underfloor heating.
There are two bedrooms with zip lock beds to provide either 5ft double beds or twin bedded accommodation and one single bedroom.
The main bathroom has a bath, separate shower, wash hand basin and w.c. The next twin bedroom has 2 doors, the second leading through to the back hallway which leads to the final double bedroom with 4ft 6in bed and shower room with shower, wash hand basin and w.c. Hairdryers and clock radios are provided in all bedrooms. There is also a second staircase which leads down to the back door.
For families with small children the following are provided: custom made stairgates for the stairs, extra stair gates, highchair x 2, booster seat, changing mat, potty, toilet seat, steps to reach sinks, extra long bath mat, cot x 2, bed guard x 1, steriliser, baby monitor, bouncy chair, playpen/fire guard, crockery and cutlery and smaller towels on request. A small play house and slide are also available for toddlers.
Outside the house is a private garden with outdoor childrens play area. There is a patio area with table and chairs and BBQ. There is ample parking for at least 5 cars. Please note both the front and back gardens have a steep slope.
Sleeps up to 11 + 2 guests - however can also be set up for smaller groups.
