The Coach House & Garden House at Balgonie - 2 secluded detached holiday cottages in the grounds of Balgonie House on the outskirts of Ballater - a home from home in the heart of Royal Deeside. Both properties have 3 bedrooms and sleep up to 6 guests each.

Overview:

Built in 2005 in the grounds of Balgonie House in the village of Ballater, the Coach House is superbly equipped with many thoughtful touches to make your stay comfortable. On the ground floor, there are 3 double bedrooms, each with en-suite shower and wc, as well as a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and indoor drying area. Upstairs there is an open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area with access through French doors to the sheltered balcony with outdoor seating and eating area. There is private parking.

Built in 2004, the Garden House, is a delightful family home designed to a high specification. There is one double bedroom on the ground floor with an adjacent family bathroom. There is a fully equipped utility room adjoining the kitchen which opens through to the sitting room and dining area. The Garden House has a spacious comfortable conservatory (with underfloor heating, so suitable for all year use). On the first floor there is a delightful master bedroom with en-suite shower & wc and sitting area, plus a family bathroom and other double bedroom.

Both houses comfortably sleep up to 6 people, but we are happy to quote rates for smaller parties.

Ballater makes an ideal base from which to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty. The village itself has a number of superb restaurants to suit various budgets, as well as takeaways, plus it enjoys the full range of shops from an award winning butcher to baker, delicatessen, supermarket and antique & gifts shops.

Balmoral Castle, with its royal associations, is only 7 miles away, while the Castle and Malt Whisky Trails are both within easy reach. Bike hire is available in the village and there are numerous trails accessible directly from Ballater. Hill walking and gentle strolls along the river and round local lochs are nearby, plus the Cairngorms, with more demanding and strenuous hikes are only half an hour away.

There is salmon fishing available on the River Dee, famous worldwide, while trout fishing can be enjoyed at Tullich and Glen Tanar.

For those of you who enjoy less strenuous activities, there are many art galleries, artists' studios and art & craft shops up and down the valleys of the Dee and the Don, with some excellent cake & coffee shops.

Booking terms:

40% deposit required to secure booking. Balance due 4 weeks prior to arrival. Otherwise, payment required in full if booking made within 4 weeks of arrival.
